In what situations is the “LU-Alert” mobile application used for the transmission of warnings and information messages?
The public authorities choose the warning channels according to the impact and seriousness of the event that needs to be warned or informed about. Warning and information messages indicating a less serious event are in principle only transmitted by the “LU-Alert” mobile application . However, in order to reach as many people as possible, all alerts are published on the “LU-Alert” mobile application and the www.lu-alert.lu website.
What exactly is the “LU-Alert” mobile application?
With the “LU-Alert” mobile application, you can follow all the alerts and information issued by the public authorities via the “LU-Alert” system.
You can choose the alert categories and levels you want to be warned or informed about. By defining places of interest (your residence, your children's school, etc.), you can subscribe to the addresses for which you wish to be warned. If you wish to be warned or informed of events taking place at your current location, please activate the geolocation feature on your mobile device to share it with the “LU-Alert” mobile application (please note that the geolocation feature must be activated at all times, not only when the application is active). The accuracy of your position can be freely chosen (the position of the mobile device or 1 km around the position of your mobile device).

How to download the “LU-Alert” mobile application?
The mobile application “LU-Alert” can be downloaded for free from the “Apple App Store” and the “Google Play Store”. To ensure the proper functioning of the application, regular updates are recommended.
The “LU-Alert” mobile application replaces the “GouvAlert” application which will be removed from the stores and no longer maintained.
On which types of mobile devices can the “LU-Alert” mobile application be downloaded?
The “LU-Alert” mobile application can be downloaded on the following types of mobile devices:
- Apple devices running the latest iOS version or the three previous versions;
- Android devices running the latest version of Android version or the three previous versions.
Updates to the operating system of your mobile device can also change the compatibility with the download of the “LU-Alert” mobile application.
